AM-18 Pistol

The Armor Militant-18 is a selective fire pistol developed at the request of the Union of Everett Crisis Unit. This machine pistol-class firearm has a lever-type fire-control selector switch, installed on the serrated portion of the rear left side of the slide. With the selector lever in the bottom position, the pistol will shoot fully-automatic, and with the selector lever in the top position, the pistol will fire semi-automatically. The firearm is typically used with an extended 33-round capacity magazine. The AM-18 comes in two models, the AM-18A which fires the 9 x 19mm round. The AM-18B features the 4.6 x 19mm round, providing extra accuracy, armor penetration, speed and lethality. Using the same extended magazine as the 9 x 19mm round, a total of 66 bullets can be fit into the magazine. The AM-18 has a keyhole opening cut into the forward portion of the slide providing an area to allow the four, progressively-larger (from back to front) compensator cuts machined into the barrel to vent the propellant gases upwards, affording more control over the rapid-firing machine pistol. The rate of fire in fully automatic mode is approximately 1,100–1,200 rounds per minute. The AM-18 is comparable with the Glock pistol. Like the Glock, the AM-18 does not utilize a hammer design like many pistol weapons. The AM-18 is frequently used by special forces and militarized agencies such as the Militant Forces, UECU and many SWAT teams. The AM-18 pistol accessories available from the factory include several devices for tactical illumination, such as a series of front rail mounted tactical lights featuring a white tactical light and an optional visible laser sight. Green blinding lasers can also be attached as a non-lethal weapon to temporarily blind targets. An alternate version of the tactical light utilizing an invisible infrared light and laser sight is also available, designed to be used with an infrared night vision device.
