Alvia (973-1029) was the Duchess of Angres-Alpedra. Alvia was born to Miquel, Duke of Alpedra and Zuleica, daughter of the Count of Angres. Alvia, as the only child of Duke Miquel, was his heir but the more traditional nobles would not support her claim when her father died in 998, instead backing a male cousin.
A cunning leader, she and her close advisers got rid of most of the traditional and dangerous nobles and replaced their titles with new ones for her allies. In 1001, she united the two lands into a single duchy.
Alvia was married to a Lanese nobleman and had six children. She died in 1029. The current royal family is descended from her.
