The Battle of Porrg was the main battle of the Second Small War, happening in 367 AB.
The Second Small War was a conflict between the Perissodactyl Place and Bat Band on one side and the Artiodactyl Association and Dinosaur Dominion on the other side. By 367 AB, the Place and Band had taken over the region of Brettany and forbid Association or Dominion armies from forming there, forcing the local authorities of the Dominion and Association to ratify that law. The Association-Dominion coalition (ADC) viewed this as unfair, but all attempts to create a similar zone had failed. As such, they instead decided to launch an invasion of Brettany. The invading forces were ruthless, killing every perissodactyl or bat they found, enraged by exaggerated propaganda of the Dominion. The result was that the local populace resented the invaders.
The forces of the Place-Band coalition (PBC) naturally met the advance. The site they chose was a large forested area that the ADC forces would have to cross. That they did, and the PBC forces sprung an ambush. The PBC general, Gbar Porrg, fought in the front lines and helped execute the main part of the strategy: appear to break lines, but having the forces in the field behind the forest join up, until the enemy was completely surrounded. The plan worked, and the invading army was soundly defeated.
