Bradmarch is an island in Georgeland and one of the founding states of the United Islands of Georgeland. Its population in 2002 was 1,745,324. With a land area of 182,324 sq. km, Bradmarch is approximately the size of Cambodia or the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
The island has a rich history, with its rich resources, tropical climate, and rich multicultural background, making it a large tourist destination.
Bradmarch, like all Georgeland states, has a Governor who acts as the state's nominal head, though in practice the government is run by the Chief Minister. Elections for the unicameral legislature are held every four years - the term of the legislature is fixed. The Bradmarch legislature is one of three in Georgeland that use a Mixed Member Proportional system to elect its members. The last election was in August 2004, the next will be held in August 2008. The Governor is elected at the same time, and for the same term, as the legislature. The incumbent Governor is Richard Fraser. The current Chief Minister is Owen Canderwell of the Liberal Democratic Party of the United Islands.
