Casey Merrick (born 21st June, 1960) is an Agian New Zealander entrepreneur, business leader, philanthropist and CEO of AirAgia, the flag carrier airline of The Waves.
In March 2017, Forbes listed Merrick's estimated net worth at $4.7 billion.
Early life[]
Merrick was born on 21st June 1960 in San Ramon, San Agia, to a New Zealander father and an Agian mother and was raised in nearby Canterria. Educated at the local primary and secondary schools, he finished a MBA in Applied Econometrics in 1986 at Rockington New University.
Career[]
Merrick founded AirAgia, the flag carrier airline of The Waves, in 1996
Merrick founded SpaceAgia, an independent civilian space programme as well as an aeronautics and aerospace research agency, in 2007
Personal life[]
With his wife, Helena, a human rights lawyer, Merrick has five children, Luca (1987), twins - Olivia and Luisa (1989), Jack (1992), and Sienna (1995), for whom AirAgia planes have been named. The family are stars of various reality television shows, such as, At Home with the Merricks. In 2001, Merrick bought a controlling share in Agian National League One team, Rockington Central, for whom is sons, Luca and Jack, are Chairman and a player respectively, and daughter, Sienna, is assistant manager.
