Cherryz Kouden (Cherryz宮殿, literally "Cherryz Palace"; sometimes romanized as Cherryz Kōden) is an all-girl S-pop group within Aloha! Project. They are one of the first generation members to graduate from Aloha! Academy. Semika Sasaki is the leader while Airi Tsukunaga is the group's most popular member.

HistoryEdit

Cherryz Kouden was formed in the year 2005, consisting of seven girls that graduated as the first generation from Aloha! Academy, who were not chosen to form the group Saruno Paradise. The members were professionally trained primarily in singing and dancing while a select few were also trained in acting and modeling when they were still members of Aloha! Academy. Many of the members already had made stage names for themselves through their participation in magazine ads, television commercials, and small television appearances. The group was officially announced on March 11, 2005, though its formation had been rumored for several months prior. For nearly a year, Surean websites speculated about which of the female Aloha! Academy members would be placed into the group.

On May 21, 2006, Cherryz Kouden's first official single "Ryuritsu de Koshitsu" was released. On the first day it ranked fifth on the charts, a feat not even accomplished by Destiny (who had ranked 8th on their debut single). With their debut single, they became the youngest group (with the average age of 13) to rank in the top 10.

On December 30, 2006, Cherryz Kouden was chosen as the Best New Artist Award with Surea Record Award.

In February 2008, Cherryz Kouden made news headlines after it was announced that the group would be holding a concert at Fuzusaki Super Arena on May 15. Not only were the tickets for the two performances sold out (a total of 20,000 seats) almost three months before the premiere, but the event also marked a historical record in that the band officially became the first to perform in the arena whose members average age did not exceed 14 years (thereby dethroning Morning Cuties, whose average was 15.1).
