Earth is the second planet of Sun. It forms a double planet with Venus.
Earth and its companion, Venus, have a barycenter approximately just between them. Their distance to each other is 65060 km. Venus has an angular diameter of 10.9 degrees seen from Earth, and Earth is seen with a diameter of 11.2 degrees from Venus.
The two planets are only minimally inclined, and near every equinox there is a solar eclipse.
On the Earth, the point that Venus always is above, is appr. 60 longitudes west at the equator. Theoretically, on an absolute moment of equinox, Venus comes between the point and the center of solar disc at 15.39 UTC and leaves at 16.22 UTC. Venus isn't big enough to cast a shadow over the whole Earth simultaneously, but Earth does so to Venus.
Full Venus is 336 times less bright compared to the Sun. However, it is seen at every moment everywhere west of 30°E and east of 150°W.
Earth has, the most evolved biosphere known so far. It has seven kingdoms: Eubacteria, Archaebacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia and Heliofilia. Primary producers are plants and consumers are animals. Heliophiles can act as both.
Plants and heliophiles provide Earth the green colour in some parts of it, as seen from space.
