The Flag of Edwardsland is a bi-coloured flag depicting the Great Bustard in the centre. The Great Bustard is the state bird of Edwardsland, which is now extinct after being brought over from England during colonisation. The green and white stripes depict the vast grass and farmlands of Edwardsland and the chalk underlay of the land.
The current flag was adopted in 1915, when the state decided that it needed to update its flag from the original flag used by the British Colony of Edwardsland from the late early 1600's. The former flag depicted a white english rose on a green background, which represented the grasslands and greenery of the area, whilst showing its rule from England with the rose.
