National Flags

The current national flag depicts thirteen red and white stripes crossing horizontally with a blue square in the upper left hand corner, bearing a star surrounded by two olive branches. The red and white stripes represent the thirteen former US states that formed the Republic of Liberty (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas), similar to that of the flag of the United States. In the left hand corner, the star symbolizes unity and strength, while the two olive branches symbolize peace. Before 1997, Liberty bared a similar flag law that the states shall be represented by stars, however it was repealed after the creation of the star and olive braches.
