3. ^ The House of Aolcrann-Feirre originated from two conjoined houses for Uille Alan of Aolcrann-Feirre and Uille Rodric of Aolcrann-Feirre, barons of Upper and Lower Feirre respectively, the eldest sons of Alan the Listener, which were merged following the death of Uille Alan in 1092. Upon her death without issue in 1178, the marquessate and the title were jointly granted to her youngest sister, who would then found the line of Blood-Blood.
5. ^ Descendant line of Louis, Prince of Dunnigh, eldest child of Louis the Lion Cub and Ella, Princess of Dunnigh, gaining the Principality of Dunnigh through primogeniture whilst his younger sister, Vela the Extinguisher, became queen by way of female-preference primogeniture. Aolcrann-Dunnigh still holds the princely title to this day.
6. ^ Descendant line of Vela-Mara, Princess of Fowlfjords, third and youngest daughter of Vela the Extinguisher and Marra, Prince of Fowlfjords, still residing in Fowlfjords to this day.

The House of Aolcrann, also known as Aolcrann of Rom and the Isles, is a Romic and Rockallian royal house presently holding the traditional noble title of King of Rom, which grants them a seat in the Romic House of Nobility. The current head of the house is Emma-Maria of Rom and Isles.

Originating from the Lewvale, from present-day Crannchóiste in An Bhá nan Éirith Ghréine, the house was known as the Marquesses of Aolcrann. They remained a non-royal house until Alan the Suffering, first cousin once removed of Dior the Unfortunate, ascended to the throne of Lewvale in 955, despite the fact that he was a descendent of the House of Cayloch and married to a niece of the head of the house. Under the matrilineal rules of the House of Cayloch, however, he had to take on his wife's distinction, i.e. of Aolcrann, meaning that he ascended as Alan of Aolcrann, founding the new royal house of Aolcrann. The old house of Aolcrann was from that point on renamed to Aolcrann-Aolcrann, which remains a marquessate of Rockall to this day.

The House of Aolcrann first held the Crown of Lewvale from 955 until 1375, and the Crown of Rom and Islands from 1059 onwards, when Alan the Listener inherited the crown from his mother, Elena of Rom and Islands. They also held the crown of An Uinnia-the Isles from 1041, Man and the Isles without Orkney from 1120, the Northern Isles, the Ewe and the Meoirr from 1125. Meoirr was lost again in 1150 with the ascension of Vela the Grey Lioness, going to her second cousin once removed Elmereth of Meinne-Elgrein na Marachol-Aolcrann-Feirre from the cadet branch of Aolcrann-Feirre due to absolute primogentiture. An Uinnia-the Isles, Man and Islands without Orkney, the Northern Isles, the Ewe, and Lewvale were lost after the death of King Elverion, the Last of Lewvale in 1363 and the subsequent breakout of the War of the Evenstars.

From 1363 onwards, the House of Aolcrann only maintained the Crown of Rom and Islands, until the islands were occupied by the British in 1745. Independence was gained again in 1759 as a republic. The royal family continued to reside in Rom, though with greatly diminished power and limited influence.

Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands[]

Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands (Aolcrann-Cannanneann-Stranduibh-Tri Eòleannan) is the descendant line of Dorian of Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands, eldest son of Queen Vela-Swiftfeet and her consort Dorian, Duke of the Cannons, Earl of the Black Beach and Lord of the Three Islands. Although he was passed on for the crown due to female-preference primogeniture in favour of his younger sister, he did inherit his father's estates through agnatic primogeniture. His marriage with the Emma of Sundragon-Sundragon, third daughter of Marfred III, Count of Sundragon Castle, laid the foundation for the Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands line.

Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands would come to inherit the throne following the death of Elverion the Last without issue, with no direct heirs from his predecessor, Vela Blue-eyes, available either. Through Dorian, who by the time of death of Elverion the Last was dead himself, the crown passed to his sons, the eldest of which had died without issue; the younger, Rodric of Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Sundragon-Sundragon however, had produced two children with Ella of Two Hills-Small Isle, the youngest of which, Uinna of Aolcrann-Cannons-Two Hills-Small Isle, to her surprise and with unwillingness, ascended to the throne as Uinna I of Rom and Islands.

Though the line of Aolcrann-Rom and Islands continued through Uinnia I, the line of Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Three Islands continued through Uinna's older brother, Rodric of Aolcrann-Cannons-Blackbeach-Sundragon-Small Isle. It went extinct in 1672.
