Jupiter, or Mu Xing, is an artifical protostar orbiting Sol in the Solar System. Formerly a Gas Giant and the largest planet in the system, the planet was helioformed in the late 21st century to extend the system's habitable zone for terraforming the outer moons. The protostar has several satellities, four of which are terraformed, Io, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. The star also has several other asteroids and smaller objects in orbit, however most of Jupiter's inner satellites were destroyed when it was ignited.
- Class: Artificial Star
- Helioformed: 2099
- Radius: 0.19 Sol
- Orbit: 778 Million Kilometres (Approximately)
- Orbital Period: 398.88 Days
The Jovian System refers to the system of moons orbiting the Protostar as part of the Sol System. Most of the former Gas Giant's inner satellites were destroyed during helioforming, however the outer-galilean moons were close enough to the star's habitable zone that they could be terraformed. The four galiean moons, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto were terraformed by 2125. The moon Ganymede is the largest moon in the Solar System, however debates have been had to whether the four moons are now planets, as they orbit a star.
