The Kingdom of Turkestan, or just Turkestan is a country encompassing all of Central Asia. It’s known as the 3rd largest country in the world by land size, and is a growing economic and political power.

The history of Turkestan is very rich with tales of occupation by foreign armies, conquest, and eventual unification and resistance to Russian imperialism, twice.

Mongol Invasion and Conquest

Before the arrival of Ghengis Khan and his Mongol Horde to the lands of Central Asia, the region was heavily divided both ethnically, linguistically, and culturally. The land was ruled by the Qara Khitai Khanate and the Khwarazmian Dynasty at the time, which both were powerful empires that held huge chunks of land. The people of Central Asia were nominally normadic and wondering merchants, but also specialized in other things too. When The Mongols conquered the territory of these empires, they quickly intergrated them. Under the mongols, something begin to change in Central Asia... the unification of the tribes of today’s Turkestan begin to be more well connected, whike local rulers encouraged the intermingling of people of different tribes, and the people of Central Asia became more connected and unified. This would be the start of the Turkestani Ethnicity, and eventually, the creation of the current day Kingdom of Turkestan.
