His Royal Majesty Konge Mathius II of the Imperium Skandinavisk and its Provinces (Mathius (II) or The Konge Royal) is the current Monark of Skandinavia and the symbolic head of government representing the nation. As Skandinavia is a Parliamentary Monarchy, Mathius still has a small amount of power in the government. Mathius is the son of the late Konge Otto I, and succeeded him in 1998, after a horrific accident involving the deceased Konge's airplane. Seen as liberal and very culturally affluent, the Konge has a personal liking for most popular trends at the moment. Mathius, like most of the Royal Family, was born in Copenhagen on February 8th, 1977, making him 21 when he inherited the throne. Mathius makes regular visits to fellow OIS countries, and has, on occasion, visited with other nation's leaders. Mathius attended the Royal Wedding of Kathrine Middleton and Prince William, and is known to be friends with Reinhardt I of Benelux. While doing so, he also has a very strong relationship with several OIS leaders, and is seen to be a very fun and charismatic person. Mathius is occasionally spotted running errands in Copenhagen and attending parties as well.

Mathius Fridjthof Eriksson was born to Konge Otto I and Dronning Anniken at the Copenhagen General Medical Center on February 8th, 1977. He was given the title Mathius II, Duke of Svealand at the age of thirteen, and was raised in Ameliasborg Castle, Copenhagen until his parents death in the March of 1998. By that time, the country had undergone a massive transition, and the inheritance of the throne by Mathius was seen as the beginning of the contemporary era by many supporters of the Venstre Partiet. Mathius II himself was a supporter of the Venstre, and he stated that if he could vote, he would vote for any of their politicians. Mathius graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2000, after nearly six years of studying. He aspired to become a wealthy business man, and he would use his wealth to surpass the amount he gained in his monthly allowance from the government. He began a small banking firm in Copenhagen, and due to his status as a royal, the bank became incredibly popular. After expanding his business across the country, he opened segments in France, Germany, Benelux, Switzerland, and Europa; eventually Monarkbank became one of the largest in Europe, and Mathius was the subject of a huge amount of wealth. As of today, Mathius still owns 70% of shares in Monarkbank, and he spends his other time attending parties, galas, and other events he is obligated to as a royal. In early 2012, he released his support for anti-ACTA protests, and moved the country further away from Europeanism. He also chose to remain neutral in the 2012 Eurozone attacks when the bank account the money was transferred to was Monarkbank, his own banking chain.
Royal DutiesEdit
Being the firstborn child of Otto and Anniken, Mathius was not obligated to any royal duties up to his coronation. When he became Konge, however, he was appointed to the position as the head of government, and inherited the royal title of the Monark. With this title comes the actions of a reigning Monark, and so, while not having any official royal duties, he must give speeches and be subject to special emergency powers should they become necessary to use. Mathius II is still not exempt to being prompted to more affirmative royal duties. For example, should war break out during his reign, he would be subject to actions within the Forsvaret to help in any conceivable way possible.

Mathius II has a liberal look towards most actions. A supporter of the Venstre Partiet, Mathius has never voiced any opposition towards any policy wavered and supported by the party. Sometimes known as the "Silent King" Mathius is very known to be shy towards most political speeches and presentations, but it is known that when he emotionally supports something these fears leave him. Mathius has focused most of his political power on equal rights laws for LGBT citizens. Mostly influenced by his sister, Mathius has successfully seen the change of political awareness towards LGBT rights. While Matthius is known to be excellent at managing money, he has stated that money was not the objective of his reign, and has revoked movements by his siblings to increase the allowance towards royals.
Personal LifeEdit
Mathius II is known to be a fan of metal and epic metal. He has attended multiple concerts for various metals bands within Skandinavia. He also is known to drink hard liquor on occasion, but he has never drunk any alcohol at a foreign or governmental event. Mathius has been in a very serious relationship with signer Lasa Malm since 2005, and many believe they will marry soon. Mathius prefers new Nordic fashion over any other kind, and is known to have a strong taste for bearskins. Mathius enjoys reading and listening to music in his free time, and even has a book review column in The Copenhagen Post.
