The United Kingdoms of Loegren (Nornic: Forenede Kongeriger af Loegren, Firman: Royaumes-unis de Logrenne, Elvetan: Reinos unidos de Logren) is a sovereign federal state which is composed of the eponymous subcontinent, the Euruan Isles, and the Jovan Isles. Loegren is made up of 14 Provinces, spanning a total land area of about 8.541 square kilometres and making it the 2nd largest country in the world. With a total estimated population of 212 million people as of 8.017AeD, Loegren is the 4th most populous nation in the world.
Loegren is a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy, in which the Emperor is the head of state and the Lord Chancellor and Lord Speaker, known together as the Lords Principal, are the nominal heads of government. In constitutional framework of the Third Empire, the title of Emperor is an inherited post which is appointed to a relative of the Allyn dynasty by each preceding Emperor, and the process by which the Emperor appoints their heir is overseen and approved by the Imperial Parliament; the federal, bicameral, and sovereign legislature of Loegren. The Lord Chancellor and Lord Speaker are elected through votes of confidence in their respective upper and lower houses of Parliament; the Council of Lords being the former and the Council of Burgesses being the latter. The Council of Lords is made up of the peers and the upper clergy of the Fellowship of the Four, while the Council of Burgessess is elected every five years in a proportional vote held throughout the 500 representative constituencies of the realm. The Lords Principal, upon their election within their respective houses, are invited by the Emperor to take part in the formation of His Imperial Majesty's Government, in which the Privy Council is assembled; thus appointing the Lords Ministerial into their offices, with half from the Lords and half from the Burgessess. This system of federal administration, with power resting equally in the hands of the sovereign, the nobility, and the people, was implemented through the Declaration of the Third Empire of 7.204, in which Robert IX was crowned as Emperor of the Loegran following the end of the War of the Three Emperors, and only small changes have been made since then.
