Manchu Airways Co. Ltd (Chinese: ㄇㄢㄗㄨ ㄏㄤㄎㄨㄥ ㄍㄨㄥㄙ; Mǎnzú hángkōng yǒuxiàn gōngsī) commonly known as Manchu Airways is the flag carrier and largest airline in Manchuria. Headquartered in Harbin its primary hubs are the Harbin Taiping and Shenyang Taoxian international airports, with its secondary hubs being the Dalian Zhoushuizi and Changchun Longjia international airports. It currently operates in 34 countries.
Manchu Airways was founded in 1956 as a state owned enterprise being at first supplied by Aeroflot. It went through substantial reform in the 1980's when it was remodelled to be a more modern, luxury airline. This process continued into the 1990's whereby certain parts of the airline were privatised to the point where the Manchu government owned around 65% of the companies shares. In 2014 following economic contraction the Manchu government announced Manchu Airways would be completely privatised by 2017 and started to sell their shares.
Manchu Airways is the parent company to Manchu Aircargo and Manchu Airservices as well as being a member of SkyTeam. The majority of its fleet being Boeing aircraft, Manchu Airways reputation has improved after it implemented stricter regulation and improving its services during the 2000's.
