Convention Center is a RTS Koiwai station in Koiwai on the Blue Line. Service began on April 19, 2010. The station is located in Malcolm Gardens on Whitehouse Road between Danforth Way and Medical Center Square, and serves the United Medical Center and University of Federal District Hospital Campuses, and the Department of Health and Humanities' National Health Research Institute. The station is also a major commuter station, serving commuters from west central Westminster County, Federal District.

History[]

Although among the first planned to be open, it was the last to be constructed and opened in RTS Koiwai Phase V. Even with the construction of the Malcolm Gardens subway to provide additional transit coverage to underserved neighborhoods in Koiwai, Malcolm Gardens is still among the least transit-accessible areas in the city, rivaled only by the RTS- and Circulator-devoid Westside.

The station is elevated, and a skybridge connecting the station mezzanine with United Medical Center's main building, over Whitehouse Road, was built in June 2010.
