The National Guard Act of 2012 is an Allied States federal legislation which reformed and reorganized the National Guard. The Guard was made completely independent from the Military and placed under the administration of the Department of Homeland Security, while individual divisions of the Guard are still led by their state's governor.

Be It Enacted By The Allied States Senate
Preamble

Whereas since the secession from the United States of America, the National Guard and the military in general has been in a state of chaos and disorganization, the Senate of the Allied States hereby enacts this act to make the National Guard independent from the military and be an organization on its own under the Department of Homeland Security.

Section 1: Department of Homeland Security and State Control
  • The Allied States National Guard will henceforth be administered by the Department of Homeland Security.
  • State national guards no longer exist.
  • Divisions assigned each respective state will be under the direct command of that state's governor and government.
Section 2: Deployment
  • The Allied States National Guard is from this moment forth no longer a reserve force of the Allied States Military, and may not be deployed outside of the borders of the Allied States of America.
  • State divisions may move from state to state with the permission of both governments.
Section 3: Goal
  • The Allied States National Guard will act as a last line of defense against foreign invasion.
  • The Allied States National Guard will act as a supporting force in times of natural disaster.
  • The Allied States National Guard will act as a peacekeeping force in times of domestic conflict.
Section 4: Relationship with the Allied States Military
  • The Allied States National Guard supersedes the regular military within the borders of the Allied States of America.
  • The Allied States Military and Allied States National Guard will work together in times of domestic distress.
  • The Allied States National Guard and Allied States Military will share bases when necessary.
