The New Cambria National Orchestra (formerly the NCPB Philharmonic Orchestra) is the only professional symphony orchestra organisation in New Cambria, occupying a dual role as both a broadcasting orchestra for New Cambria Public Broadcasting, and a national orchestra. As Orchestra-in-Residence at the Angelus Concert Hall in Arvant, the orchestra gives over 20 concerts each year in New Cambria's capital city, but also performs regularly though out the country and beyond, including international tours and annual appearances at Symphony Hall in Boston. Broadcasting work includes studio sessions for New Cambria Radio (NCR) and New Cambria Television (NCT), although the orchestra's concerts form the bulk of its broadcasts, transmitted primarily on NCR's channel Three FM, but also on NCR-2 and NCT One. The orchestra performs a wide repertoire including contemporary music.

From as early as 1937, there were several attempts to create a permanent professional orchestra in New Cambria. Problems with funding, the interruption of World War II and the country's burgeoning independence movement from Great Britain meant that it wasn't until 1959 that the notion of a national orchestra for New Cambria became sustainable. As it was originally titled, the NCR Chamber Orchestra grew steadily during its first decades, becoming known as the NCPB Chamber Orchestra in 1971 to reflect the creation of NCR's parent organization. In 1994, the orchestra reached the full symphonic size of 88 players, and was renamed the NCPB Philharmonic Orchestra. The orchestra was renamed once again in 2000 to its current title, the New Cambria National Orchestra, to reflect more suitably its special role in the country.

Since 1998, the orchestra has been able to perform regularly alongside the New Cambria National Chorus, an amateur chorus of more than 40 singers. The chorus is also featured in NCR and NCT broadcasts. Both the orchestra and the chorus undertake a busy programme of education and community work through companion programs called Echo (orchestra) and Voices Within (chorus), which creates access to the players and singers for New Cambria's schools, youth groups, communities and musicians of all abilities.
