Early life Edit

Richard Marshall was born in Partwick in 1977. His parents, George and Zara, were both state employees and social workers. In 1983, George was promoted to undersecretary in the Ministry for Internal Affairs led by Henry Parton. This involved a move from Partwick to Vaughan, and the family was part of the Inward Exodus of 1983. Marshall was educated first at the Vaughan Heights Elementary and then attended Swansbury College and High School.

Higher education and career Edit

In 1995, Marshall joined the Wiltingshire Section of the Socialist Party, which ultimately won the Elections that year. He then moved back to Drakeshire, settling with his girlfriend Anetta Wright in Capeston. He attended Golden College in genetics and psychology from 1996 to 2002.

Political activity Edit

2004 County Council ElectionsEdit

In the 2004 County Council Elections, Marshall ran as an independent Socialist. He entered the County Council on May 20th, 2004, and became a member of the Lands & Administration Committee. Since then, he has supported legislation for clean waters, arable land protection, and many other projects to protect the environment of the County, which depends heavily on dairy produce. Marshall has been known during his term to have extensive contacts with members of the Council belonging to other parties, such as Republican Matthew Abercrombie and Liberal Fern Smith; he is thus known amongst Socialists as being "multilateral".

Social-Democratic AllianceEdit

When the Social-Democrat Alliance was formed on January 23, 2007, the leaders of the local sections of the Social-Democratic Parties invited Marshall to join the Alliance as part of the Socialist contingent. Marshall accepted in March of 2007, having asked for some time to reflect upon his decision.

2008 County Council ElectionsEdit

Richard Marshall is running for re-election on May 20, 2008 in the County Council Elections. He was asked by the Social-Democratic Alliance to form and lead a list in the Elections, and will be running for Governor-General. A poll conducted by VISA claims that he is third behind National Gavin Humphrey and Conservative Andrew Mullen in the race for the leadership of the Council.
