Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (IATA: SAW, ICAO: LTFJ) is the main airport serving East Istanbul, Turkey. The facility is named after Sabiha Gökçen, the first female combat pilot in the world. It is the busiest airport in Turkicstan, and handled an estimated 37 million passengers in 2010.

Terminals

SAW has two terminals, Terminal 1 for Domestics flights and Terminal 2 for internationl. Terminal 2 was opened in 2009 after the airports modernization and expansion program. The airport's cargo terminal has a capacity of 90,000 tons per year and is equipped with 18 cold storage depots.

Ground Transport

The Red Line of East Istanbul Metro terminates at Sabhia Gocken Station, and connects the airport to Haydarpasa Train Station, aswell as the Blue, and Green Metro Lines.

The Airport has a large taxi rank, which is owned and operated by Ulasim, only Ulasim licensed Yellow Taxis can operate. However there is a private taxi rank aswell. Airport Shuttle Services run every half-hour from Kadikoy.
