The South Island Act is the Act of the Grand Washingtonian Assembly which established the Province of South Island on 18 January 1915, passed along with the North Island Act. The Act establishes the borders and territory of the Province as well as its governing structures, including the Provincial Secretary and the Provincial Legislature. The Act thus operates as the Province's local constitution.

Chapter 7 of the Constitution deals specifically with provincial matters and allows the Grand Assembly to establish new provinces and declare the powers that the governments of those provinces may have.
