Hi. The proper term would be 'Anglo-American common law', and not 'English and American common laws'. The term 'common law' never features as a plural. You don't have to worry about confusing 'English' and 'British' by using 'Anglo' - there is basically only English common law. Scots law and Welsh law are something completely different.
