The Third Balkans War was a war fought in the Balkans from 1954-1955.
Background
Edit
The war began mostly because of the creation of Kingdom of Europa and the secession of several integral parts of Yugoslavia. There was increased animosity between newly-formed Europa and Yugoslavia.
The war
Edit
Fighting began on June 21, 1954 when Yugoslav troops invaded the border into Europa. As there had been a renewed communist insurgence in Greece, they began its invasion there as well. Europa managed to hold back the invaders, but Greece was overrun in a matter of weeks and the Yugoslavs invaded Turkey. Europa agreed to help in liberating Greece and Turkey. Europa laid seige to Yugoslav-held Istanbul and reclaimed it. Meanwhile the Turks and Free Greeks began the Liberation of Greece.
Aftermath
Edit
At the Treaty of Athens (1955), Europa was awarded Istanbul and the Dardanelles Territory.
