Purpose
Edit
These worlds are, for the most part, being created only for the purpose of having fun and roleplaying a mixture of steampunk and fantasy: a land where people mix the disciplines of magic and science together in order to achieve goals greater than those who would shun magic. The combination of science and magic is known as 'Magical Technology' or, more commonly, 'Magi-Tech'. This culture both draws from and alludes to real mythologies, beliefs, and other such concepts, but also allows for a fairly constant inflow of new ideas.

General
Edit
Verus is not the name of a single planet. It is the name of a solar system which contains the planet, Plagiarius, and its moon, Miantis, which was once a lone planet before it and Plagiarius's gravitaional pulls forced them into an orbit of each other. They orbit around their star at about the same distance from its center and at about the same rate as our Earth and its moon orbit their star. As a result, one year on Plagiarius is roughly equivalent to one Earth year. The bodies, Plagiarius and Miantis are roughly as large as the Earth and Venus, respectively, but with a void stretching a distance twice the distance from the Earth to its moon between them, thus making one complete orbit around each other just under two months on the Gregorian calendar in length.
Plagiarius
Edit
Plagiarius is distinct from its sattelite, Miantis, by the fact that it has multiple continents and more variation in the terrain, due to the continential drift of the tectonic plates upon which those continents lie. This also indicates that the planet is still geologically active and not burnt out, like Mars in our solar system. It takes this planet approximately 387 days to make a full circle around its star. As this number of days is only an approximation, those living on Plagiarius have put together something comparable to the leap year of the Gregorian Calendar, for every sixth year has one less day than the other five.
Miantis
Edit
Miantis consists of only one single, massive continent (comparable to Earth's Pangea), on which several different species, both sentient and wild, reside. Various mountains stretch across the landscape, each one devoted to one of the many gods in the Varian pantheon. One structure unique to this planet, is the Nataria, a flying city that is the largest, most multi-cultural marketplace in Verus. The massive structure floats as if by magic hundreds of miles above the sea, and is regarded as neutral territory; it is free from the any one nation's dominion.
Life Forms
Edit
Verus contain a rich variation of both vertebrate, invertebrate and plant life that covers more than earth has, tripods, tetrapods, bipods, quinpods are all known to exist in higher forms of life and not just as insect-like creature. Verus also contains many different forms of sentient life that covers many forms of life known among living beings on earth.
Culture
Edit
Culturally they resemble many different forms of ancient cultures from earth since in their earlier, currently recorded history they had contact with it, which is also why earth mythologies contain elements of their reality. They went silent with earth after sometime, with some rare exceptions that have resulted in further exchanges of both genetic material but also culture.
